6 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Francisco Mejia delivered a game-winning, pinch-hit double Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mejia broke a scoreless game in the fifth inning with his first extra-base hit of the year, which proved to be the difference-maker in the contest. Through seven games, Mejia has only received two starts and is batting .333 in just nine plate appearances. With catcher Austin Hedges leading the Friars pitching staff, opportunities may be rare for the 23-year-old prospect.
