4 years agoOrlando Magic point guard Frank Mason III (groin) has been ruled out for Friday's game versus Sacramento due to a strained left groin. The ailment torpedoed Mason's evening Thursday when he made his first start of the season, playing just four minutes before heading to the locker room. Since joining the Magic, Mason has been an integral member of the second unit, filling in with injuries hampering the team's backcourt depth. Michael Carter-Williams (foot) has been cleared to return Friday, so he should assume the minutes that Mason leaves on the table. Mason's next opportunity to suit up comes Sunday against the Suns.--Jesse Borek
