Frank Schwindel Homers Twice Against Red Sox
5 years agoDetroit Tigers first baseman Frank Schwindel hit two home runs on Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox. He hit a two-run homer in the first inning off Jeffrey Springs and another two-run homer in the sixth inning off Heath Hembree. Schwindel signed a minor league deal with the Tigers last May after being released by the Kansas City Royals. With Miguel Cabrera and C.J. Cron already penciled in at designated hitter and first base, there is not a clear path to playing time for Schwindel. However, we would not rule him out for one of the final spots on the Opening Day roster. He did make the Royals Opening Day roster in 2019, and he is batting .357 through spring training thus far. For now, he is still off the fantasy radar in the majority of leagues, but that could change in the near future.
