Garrison Mathews Draws First Career Start Friday
4 years agoWashington Wizards shooting guard/small forward Garrison Mathews is among the starting five for the first time in his career Friday against the Knicks. The absence of Bradley Beal (rest) means that Mathews will see sizable DFS upside, especially considering his bare minimum price tag. During a seven-game stretch during January when D.C. was heavily short-handed, Mathews averaged 11.7 PPG and shot 42.1 percent from behind the arc. Having played eight or fewer minutes in each of the team's last four games, Mathews will carry some single-game risk, while not drawing much season-long appeal.
