Gary Trent Jr. Drops Season-High 31 Points
3 years agoIn a tough 119-103 road loss to the Utah Jazz, Toronto guard Gary Trent Jr. led the points-scoring charge for a banged-up Raptors unit. Missing OG Anunoby (hip), Trent played 33 minutes, making 12 of 18 shots for a season-high 31 points. For good measure, the former Portland player added five three-pointers, three assists, two rebounds and a steal. The 31 points eclipsed Trent's previous season-high of 23 against the Knicks on Nov. 2. He's also becoming handy in the swipes column, averaging 2.4 steals per game over his last 12 outings. Of course, the points, threes and shooting ratios are the 22-year-old's main game, but the added dimension of steals has elevated him to a top-20 player over the last two weeks. He's rostered in 81 percent of Yahoo leagues, so it's worth a look to see if he is somehow still floating around your waiver wire.
