4 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres (elbow) was diagnosed with a right elbow contusion after being hit with a fastball early in Thursday’s game. Encouragingly, X-rays on Torres’s elbow came back negative, so the 23-year-old is unlikely to require a stint on the IL. Still, Torres is likely to miss at least a couple of games over the next few days, and Tyler Wade is likely to start at shortstop in his place.--Sam Chinitz
