Gleyber Torres Extends Hit Streak To Three Games
4 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres extended his hit streak to three games with a 1-for-3 performance on Sunday. Torres broke a 24-at-bat hitless streak in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, and he appears to be heating up after a slow start to the season. Poor contact quality has been the primary driver of Torres’s early-season slump, but the 23-year-old’s xwOBA has been trending upwards recently, and there’s no reason to expect his slump to continue much longer. As a result, fantasy players should comfortably start Torres despite his slump and expect him to post an OPS north of .820 for the season.
