4 years agoThe New York Yankees will officially be without shortstop Gleyber Torres and left-handed pitcher James Paxton for at least the next 10 days as both were placed on the injured list Friday. Torres has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of both his left quad and hamstring, while Paxton has a Grade 1 strain of his left forearm flexor. It appears that Paxton will be sidelined longer than the required 10 days, but Torres may benefit from the club’s weekend series against the Mets having been postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests. The duo join the likes of Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, DJ LeMahieu, and Zack Britton on the IL, opening the door for younger Yankees to get a look in the short-term.--Jesse Borek
