6 years agoBoston Celtics small forward Gordon Hayward played 38 minutes during Sunday’s loss to the Orlando Magic, his most playing time in a single outing since Nov. 16. With Jayson Tatum leaving due to injury, Hayward entered the starting group for the second half, spurred on to shoot 8-for-14 from the floor overall, with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists to his credit. Hayward has now scored in double figures in eight consecutive contests, averaging 16.4 points per game in that span. He appears to be finding his groove at just the right time for Boston and could see an increased role should Tatum miss any kind of time.--Jesse Borek
