4 years agoCharlotte Hornets small/power forward Gordon Hayward (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against San Antonio as he deals with lower back discomfort. Without Hayward available, the Hornets figure to be thin on the wing Sunday due to Caleb Martin and Cody Martin having already ruled out under the league's health and safety protocols, while P.J. Washington is also unlikely to play under the same banner. The absence marks just the second of the year for Hayward, who is averaging a career-high 22.3 PPG through his first 26 contests. Miles Bridges figures to benefit most from the extensive absences, with Hayward's next chance to suit up coming Wednesday versus the Bulls.--Jesse Borek
