2 years agoBaltimore Orioles shortstop prospect Gunnar Henderson was one of the highest risers in the most recent update to the MLB Pipeline prospect rankings earlier this month. Prior to the update, he was ranked 41st overall, but now he is slotting in as the No. 5 overall prospect. Henderson was promoted to Triple-A about a month ago after posting a 1.025 OPS at Double-A. The 21-year-old has continued to hit well at Triple-A, slashing .266/.391/.486 with five home runs, five doubles and three stolen bases over 30 games. Going into this season, there was little reason to believe that Henderson could see the majors in 2022. While the most likely scenario is that he makes his MLB debut in 2023, his exceptional season thus far has made a 2022 call-up a potential outcome. He shouldn't be rostered in season-long leagues at this point, but if he does happen to get the call and you need help at an infield or utility spot, he's certainly worth taking a chance on.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
