3 years agoCan Harold Varner III surprise many like he did at the John Deere Classic? Absolutely. He was easily a few missed putts from finishing in the top five there (tied for 11th). The problem is since he finished in a tie for second three months ago at the RBC, Varner III has been too inconsistent. One week, he contends and the next he completely misses another cut. There is tons of risk but one thing that cannot be disputed is his tee-to-green game most weeks can put him in a position to make putts. Varner III just has to actually do it. He ranks 117th in birdies per round. That has to change for him to be a worthwhile investment. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
