Hassan Whiteside Does Not Play Fourth Quarter In Loss
7 years agoMiami Heat center Hassan Whiteside scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a loss to Orlando on Monday. The bigger story is Whiteside failed to play in the fourth quarter. What makes it even more concerning is Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) left early in this game and head coach Eric Spoelstra chose to go small and play Bam Adebayo at the five. Whiteside has made the most of his time on the floor, averaging 14.1 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. What's frustrating is Whiteside is averaging 19.8 points and 16.5 rebounds per 36 minutes. It will be interesting to see how Spoelstra plans to play Whiteside if Olynyk misses time. Whiteside fantasy owners might want to hold their breath as there's a chance he might not even be a Heat by the end of the week. Miami plays Houston on Wednesday and while his minutes aren't clear he'll more than likely finish with a double-double.
