Hyun-Jin Ryu Loses No-Hitter In Eighth
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu has gotten off to an incredible start the season, but he elevated his game to another level on Sunday against the Washington Nationals. Ryu went eight strong innings with nine strikeouts, one walk, and just one hit allowed to Gerardo Parra with one out in the eighth inning. The Dodgers went on to win 6-0, improving Ryu's season record to 5-1 with a 1.72 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, and a 9.29 K/9 ratio. He also leads qualified pitchers with a minuscule 0.41 BB/9. Though his strikeout rate isn't among the league leaders, Hyun-Jin Ryu has been an absolute force of a starting pitcher so far this season. Fantasy owners would be wise to continue deploying him as a matchup-proof starter, at least until his current form cools down.
