Ian Kennedy Earns Seventh Save With Rocky Inning
6 years agoKansas City Royals pitcher Ian Kennedy closed out the team's 8-6 victory over the Twins on Sunday with a shaky one-inning save. Kennedy allowed two hits, a walk and an earned run in the inning while striking out two. This was the fourth save in June for Kennedy, but the first outing in which he'd allowed a run and more than one hit. He certainly appears to be the primary closer in Kansas City as no other Royal has earned a save since Scott Barlow on April 17. Kennedy's 3.86 ERA and 1.32 WHIP on the year aren't ideal, but he's worth adding in any category or rotisserie league where saves are scarce.
