5 years agoTexas Rangers infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa is having a spring training to remember. After permanently ditching the catcher's gear, Kiner-Falefa is hitting the cover off the ball in 13 games. The 24-year old is slashing .419/.455/.612 with 13 hits, 10 runs, 11 RBI, four home runs, and two walks to three strikeouts. With Willie Calhoun's injury, Kiner-Falefa will not have to worry about Nick Solak taking at-bats in the infield for a while. He should be on many early-season waiver wire lists in a 14-team mixed league or deeper, but in an AL-only league, his new-found power and playing time will make him a valuable asset while there is room in the Texas lineup for Kiner-Falefa to play.--Euan Leith
