Isiah Kiner-Falefa Starting At Catcher
7 years agoTexas Rangers utility player Isiah Kiner-Falefa will make his first major league start at catcher Wednesday. With Robinson Chirinos receiving a day off, Kiner-Falefa is the only other player on the active roster who has logged time in 2018 at catcher, having started three games there in Triple-A. Kiner-Falefa is looking at reduced playing time now that Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre are back playing regularly. The young right-handed hitter has a .255 batting average with two home runs and five stolen bases. In leagues requiring just one start to gain positional eligibility, Kiner-Falefa just became an interesting option in two-catcher leagues.
