6 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Ito Smith was held out of practice Sunday with a foot contusion. Comments made by head coach Dan Quinn indicated that the injury was not serious, so expect to see Smith back on the practice field in the near future. Smith will have his work cut out in training camp trying to displace Tevin Coleman as the teams second choice running back. Smith had two straight years with over 1,400 rushing yards at Southern Mississippi, so he does have the promise to be a solid option for the Falcons. In addition, Smith also returned some kicks in college so he will be hoping to get on the field and challenge Justin Hardy for that role soon.--Ben Rolfe
