J.D. Martinez Hits 21st Homer Wednesday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez got the scoring going against the Detroit Tigers Wednesday, with a solo home run off starter Casey Mize in the second inning. It was his 21st long ball of the season. Martinez has now had too good days in a row after after a five-game stretch in which he went 1-for-22. Fantasy managers will be quite pleased to see the improvement after he looked so lost at the plate, striking out seven times in that five-game stretch. With an .889 OPS on the year, he should still be in fantasy lineups, as he can't be kept down for long.
