2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez is getting the day off on Tuesday as the team takes on the Tampa Bay Rays. Rafael Devers (back) is making his return to the lineup for the game and he'll be serving as the team's designated hitter. Martinez has been swinging the bat well lately. He hit his ninth home run of the year on Sunday, then went on to hit a pair of doubles in Monday's game. The 34-year-old is slashing .317/.349/.512 across the month of July as a whole and his season-long batting average of .313 ranks seventh in the majors among qualified hitters.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
