J.J. Redick Provides Bench Scoring In Season Opener
6 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers guard J.J. Redick was moved to a bench role this season with Markelle Fultz taking his place in the starting unit, but the veteran guard is still seeing plenty of minutes off the bench and is expected to play with the starters in the second half of games. In Tuesday's season-opening loss to the Celtics, Redick scored 16 points on 7-for-17 shooting. He was just 2-for-8 from three, suggesting that a better shooting night would make Redick an even more lethal option off the bench. No team allowed more made three pointers last season than the Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia's opponent on Thursday night, setting Redick up to have another strong game.
