Ja Morant Hands Out Career-High 14 Assists
5 years agoMemphis Grizzlies guard JA Morant scored 22 points with a career-high 14 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals in a 134-121 win over the San Antonio Spurs. At this point, the Rookie of The Year award is Morant's to lose. The former Murray State star has been at his best in five January games, with averages of 20.8 points, 7.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.0 triples per game on 63.3/40.0/85.0 percent shooting splits. Even better news for his fantasy owners is that the win over the Spurs moves Memphis up to the eighth seed in the West, meaning Morant will be playing even more meaningful minutes moving forward. The 20-year-old will take on the Warriors on Sunday, who he dropped 26 and seven dimes against in their most recent meeting.
