Ja Morant Notches Double-Double Against Portland
4 years agoMemphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant picked up right where he left off in his team's return to NBA action. Morant notched his 11th double-double of the year with 22 points, 11 assists, five rebounds and a steal. The rookie struggled with his shot, making just seven of 22 field-goal attempts and one of seven triples. However, he's involved enough with the offense to make up for nights such as this one. Morant's 27.4 usage rate led all rookies through the first portion of the NBA season. His 3.2 turnovers per game aren't appetizing, but that tends to happen when the ball is in the hands of one player that much. Morant had 22 points and 14 dimes in his most recent meeting with his next opponent, the San Antonio Spurs.
