Jaime Schultz Added To Major League Roster
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jaime Schultz was called up to the major league roster Sunday. Schultz's call up comes after Anthony Banda was sent down to Triple-A Saturday. Schultz should primarily operate out of the bullpen, having not started a game at Triple-A this season. In 15 1/3 inning, Schultz has struggled with a 9.98 ERA and 16 walks. However, he has been striking people out, and has 29 strikeouts this season. If Schultz can get the walks under control, he could have fantasy relevance due to his ability to strike hitters out. Additionally, if he pitches well he could be an outside shot for the closer role following the departure of Alex Colome.
