6 years agoDallas Mavericks point guard Jalen Brunson carried the team's offense on Tuesday against San Antonio, scoring a career-high 34 points on 12-for-16 shooting. He was perfect with his seven free throw attempts while shooting 3-for-6 from downtown. Luka Doncic was limited to just 12 points, so the Mavs needed somebody to step up, and Brunson managed to do that, although it wasn't a complete surprise. Brunson has played some good stuff for several weeks now and he's locked into a big role for the rest of the way. He'll be in an uncomfortable spot against the Nuggets on Thursday, as Denver have given up the second-fewest points to opposing point guards this season, but Brunson did score a game-high 22 points when the two teams last met on Feb. 22.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
