James Harden Ties Career High In 61-Point Effort
6 years agoHouston Rockets point/shooting guard James Harden continued to rewrite the record books during Friday’s win over the San Antonio Spurs, matching his career high from earlier this season with 61 points. Harden went for 27 in the first quarter alone, going 19-for-34 from the field overall, including 9-for-13 from three-point range. He added seven rebounds and three steals, with just one assist, but when you tie the franchise record in scoring, the assists total is given a pass. His historic offensive season has him averaging 36.5 points per game with nine regular season games to play and Harden doesn’t appear to be slowing anytime soon, with a golden match-up versus the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, whom he dropped 41 against back on Dec. 29.
