5 years agoLos Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee has been ruled out for Thursday’s contest against the Brooklyn Nets due to an illness, likely paving the way for Dwight Howard to see an increased role in the frontcourt. McGee had started every game thus far in 2019-20 for Los Angeles, with his absence certainly to throw head coach Frank Vogel’s rotations into flux. While his 7.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest averages have been modest, McGee has been known to erupt for strong outings on occasion, giving him continued value in deeper season-long formats. His next chance at getting back into action will be Saturday against Philadelphia.--Jesse Borek
