Jayson Tatum Compiles 29 Points In Strong Game 1 Showing
3 years agoBoston Celtics small/power forward Jayson Tatum led the way with a team-high 29 points in Tuesday's defeat to Miami. Playing nearly the whole game (44 minutes), Tatum was dogged by a bevy of defenders, but he managed to shoot 10-for-21 overall, even as he went just 2-for-9 from deep. But he continued to affect the game in myriad ways, adding eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Including the first two rounds of the postseason, Tatum has knocked down multiple threes in 11 of 12 outings and is averaging 28.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game. Even when Al Horford (health and safety protocols) and Marcus Smart (foot) return, fantasy managers can anticipate Tatum carrying as much of the offensive load as he can bear in his quest for his first NBA Finals appearance.
