Jimmy Butler Could Return For Playoffs
7 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Jimmy Butler (knee) will be out for the remainder of the regular season. Butler suffered a meniscus injury in his right knee during Friday’s loss to the Houston Rockets, but he could potentially return in time for the playoffs. For fantasy owners, this is not good news. While he is out, look for forward Nemanja Bjelica to slide in at the two spot. During Butler’s four-game absence in January, Bjelica averaged 11.5 points, seven rebounds and 1.5 steals as a starter. The sample size is very small, but that type of production will be welcomed in deeper leagues. Also, look for Bjelica to become a popular value option in DFS contests in addition to Karl-Anthony Towns, Jeff Teague and Andrew Wiggins also seeing a significant bump in production while Butler is out of the lineup.
