Jo Adell Receives Option To Minor League Camp
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell will not begin the year on the 26-man roster for the Major League club after being reassigned to Minor League camp Sunday. Long regarded as one of the game's top prospects, Adell struggled in his brief taste of big league action last year, slashing .161/.212/.266 across 38 games. In addition to his gaudy 41.7% K rate, Adell posted a 42.1% whiff rate, which ranked him among the lowest one percentile of all hitters in the Majors. The move to reassign Adell opens the corner outfield spots for Justin Upton and Dexter Fowler, who figure to see sizable time to begin 2021. Still just 21 years old, Adell remains a potential future game-changer, but he can essentially be ignored in redraft leagues due to his spot in the Minors and the Angels' outfield logjam.
