Joaquin Niemann A Solid Sleeper At Genesis
3 years agoJoaquin Niemann comes into the Genesis Invitational off a T6 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open a couple of weeks back. For Niemann, that was his second top-six of the season, but overall, he struggled during the fall swing of the season. In his career, Niemann has made two of three cuts at Riviera, but doesn't have a finish inside the top-40. However, there is reason to believe this season will be different. In his career, Niemann has been rough around the greens, never gaining more than .018 strokes around the green in a season and losing strokes around the green in three of his four PGA Tour seasons. However, so far this season, Niemann is inside the top-45 on tour in strokes gained around the green, gaining .362 strokes this season. With that, Niemann is 36th on tour in strokes gained tee to green, and 50th in strokes gained total. Now, Niemann doesn't have win potential this week, but he should be locked into a made cut, and maybe even a top-25 this week in LA.
