3 years agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (finger) finished with 300 yards on 24-for-40 passing during the loss to the Chargers in Week 13. The sophomore signal-caller also threw a touchdown, finding Tee Higgins with a 29-yard toss in the second quarter. Yet, his two interceptions certainly didn't help things. To make matters worse, Burrow suffered a dislocated pinky on his throwing hand, an injury that he told reporters was causing him a great deal of pain. As a result, there's a chance that the 24-year-old may miss Week 14 against the 49ers, so fantasy managers should make the necessary preparations in advance. However, Burrow's backup, Brandon Allen, certainly isn't the answer.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 years agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow wasn't quite himself during the Week 1 overtime loss to Pittsburgh. The signal-caller managed to throw for 338 yards and two touchdowns. However, he uncharacteristically threw four interceptions and fumbled twice, with one resulting in a turnover. Burrow downplayed questions surrounding his health after undergoing an appendectomy in July, indicating he felt "great." With that said, fantasy managers should give him a free pass for the uninspiring performance. Yet, if Burrow posts a similar showing against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, managers may want to consider other options until he proves he's 100%.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 years agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will begin the year with an AFC North showdown against the Steelers. The 25-year-old played relatively well in his two meetings versus Pittsburgh last season, accumulating 362 yards and four touchdowns (two picks) while completing 81% of his throws. With a mid-summer appendectomy behind him, he'll have Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Joe Mixon to help him ease back into things, even if he isn't 100%. As an added bonus, the Bengals also have a revamped offensive line, which should keep the 2020 No. 1 overall pick vertical much more than last season. All things considered, managers drafted Burrow as a top signal-caller for a reason, so he should be starting in every fantasy format imaginable.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 years agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (appendix) was scheduled to take part in 11-on-11 team drills in training camp practice on Wednesday without limitations. "I could go out there and play but I'm not where I want to be yet," Burrow said. The 25-year-old had an appendectomy on July 26 and has been brought along slowly since, but barring a setback of some kind, he's expected to be ready for Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl in just his second NFL in a bounce-back year after a serious knee injury in his rookie season, Burrow has quickly become a strong QB1 option for fantasy managers once the elite names come off the board.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 years agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (appendix), who had an appendectomy on July 26 after his appendix ruptured, took part in team drills at training camp practice for the first time on Wednesday. Burrow is looking to add weight and return his body to its pre-surgery form before Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he doesn't expect to play in the preseason. The third-year signal-caller played just one series in the preseason last year after coming off major knee surgery and went on to lead the team to the Super Bowl in 2021, so fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned. The 25-year-old could be a little slow out of the gates in the regular season, but he's still worth a selection as a strong QB1 in fantasy drafts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
