Joe Mixon Faces Stiff Test Versus Saints
6 years agoJoe Mixon is in the small group of running backs with a guaranteed workload, as evidenced by his 20.7 touches per game (fifth among RB's). However, his recent lack of receiving usage, the return of Giovani Bernard, and a really tough matchup against the Saints all serve to slightly downgrade his fantasy outlook this week. New Orleans ranks third in defensive DVOA against the run and they allow just 95 total yards per game to opposing backfields (second in NFL). Mixon could also fall victim to a negative game script if the Bengals were to fall behind early, as he's averaging just 12 touches per game in losses (compared to 20 touches per game in wins). Consider Mixon more of a high-end RB2 than a locked-in RB1 in Week 10.
