6 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman/outfielder Joey Gallo (groin) is confident of being on the field on Opening Day. Gallo suffered a mild groin strain over the weekend, but has stated on numerous occasions since that if this was the regular season he would be out on the field for the Rangers. This spring Gallo has been having mixed success at the plate. His .241 batting average would be a welcome return for fantasy owners once the season starts, but he has yet to hit a home run in 2019. However, the positive of seeing Gallo hit for a slightly improved average in spring compared to last season outweighs any concern owners might have over his lack of power this spring. Gallo remains a player with top-50 overall upside this season, and fantasy owners should be willing to reach a little for a hitter who could lead the majors in home runs in 2019.--Ben Rolfe
