6 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo took Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Alex Cobb deep in the fifth inning of Friday's game. The home run was Gallo's only hit of the game and he now has 22 home runs on 58 hits in 2018. Gallo has been a disappointment for fantasy owners in 2018, but this is kind of what we should have expected. In 2017, Gallo hit 41 home runs with a .209 batting average, and fantasy owners were hoping he would be able to take the next step in 2018. However, Gallo is currently on pace to hit somewhere in the region of 40 home runs and his batting average sits at a measly .186. Given the amount of power available in the league currently, and Gallo's tendency to sit one out of every three or four games, it is become tougher to keep holding onto Gallo in anything but the deepest of leagues.--Ben Rolfe
