6 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo hit his 27th home run of the season Thursday. Gallo has struggled for consistency in 2018, with a .193 batting average and an incredible 145 strikeouts. However, after putting up a .187/.296/.443 line in the first half of the season, he currently has a .188/.366/.563 line in the second half. It is unlikely Gallo will ever hit for an average much above .200 but the improvements in the OBP and slugging are promising for the Rangers. In terms of fantasy value, Gallo is a complete drain on batting average but when he gets hot his power can be a valuable commodity.--Ben Rolfe
