6 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo has demonstrated a willingness to use bunting in order to try and defeat the shift this spring training. Gallo was roundly criticized last season for his lack of willingness to bunt when teams used the four outfielder shift on him. However, twice this spring already Gallo has shown an indication to use the bunt, when the opposite side of the infield is bare. He still contends "that bunting is not easy, and bunting takes away his greatest asset." However, when the game situation dictates then he is open to it. This is great news for his fantasy owners, as it give the opportunity for Gallo to increase his batting average a little this season. If Gallo can just get his batting average to the .225 region then he could return top-50 value in 2019.--Ben Rolfe
