6 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Joey Wendle will sit versus the left-handed Marco Gonzales Friday. Utility infielder Christian Arroyo will take Wendle's place in the lineup and hit eighth. Arroyo has a .360 wOBA when facing left-handed pitchers this season. Hitting eighth is less than ideal, but Arroyo makes for an interesting cheap option if you want to fit in some elite hitters Friday. Another beneficiary of Wendle sitting is Carlos Gomez , who will hit fifth. However, Gomez has struggled against left-handed pitchers this season, having just a .375 slugging percentage and a .270 wOBA.--Ben Rolfe
