5 years agoAtlanta Hawks power forward/center John Collins has been ruled out for the final quarter and a half of Friday’s game versus the Boston Celtics due to a back contusion after landing hard earlier in the third quarter. Prior to his departure, Collins collected 16 points and eight rebounds across his 22 minutes, shooting 6-for-9 from the field overall, including 2-for-3 from long range. Collins drew the start at the center slot Friday, with both Jabari Parker and Alex Len likely to pick up additional minutes should Collins remain sidelined for any extended period of time. His next chance at taking the floor comes Saturday versus Indiana with very little time to recover.--Jesse Borek
