6 years agoToronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas had an outstanding performance in Saturday's win over Portland, leading all scorers with 17 points. The big Lithuanian logged 19 minutes off the bench and did some very efficient scoring, hitting 4-for-8 from the field and nailing all nine attempts from the free throw line. He added seven rebounds to his tally and did some great defensive work as well, recording three steals and one block. Valanciunas has started all but six of his 440 career games during the regular season, so him coming off the bench was an interesting development. However, as he showed, he can still be a productive player even if he's not a starter.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
