5 years agoMemphis Grizzlies center Jonas Valanciunas exceeded the 20-point plateau in back-to-back games for just the second time this season with his 24-point showing against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Wednesday’s loss. Valanciunas fell a rebound shy of back-to-back double-doubles, but did add three assists and knock down multiple threes for the sixth time this season. While he had mustered double-digit shot attempts just once over his past six games entering the night, he went 11-for-16 from the field against the Thunder; all four of his 20-plus-point games this season have come when he has attempted at least 16 shots. He remains a double-double threat on a nightly basis, entering Friday’s matchup versus Cleveland on pace to average a new career high in rebounds per game at 9.7 per contest.--Jesse Borek
