2 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Kings due to a sore right ankle. The absence will mark Valanciunas' first since Jan. 29, and paves the way for Willy Hernangomez and Jaxson Hayes to play elevated roles in the frontcourt. Valanciunas enjoyed a 10-game streak of recording a double-double prior to having it snapped in his previous outing. The big man is on pace to set a new career high with 17.9 PPG, while also averaging a double-double for the third consecutive campaign. His next chance to take the floor comes Thursday vs. Portland.--Jesse Borek
