2 years agoBaltimore Orioles closer Jorge Lopez picked up his 14th save of the season on Wednesday when he closed the game out against the Texas Rangers. Lopez allowed one hit while walking none and striking out two in his one inning of work. The 29-year-old right-hander had surrendered runs in each of his last three outings in July, including two blown saves, so this was a bounce-back performance for him. It was also Lopez's first save since June 24. Despite his recent struggles, he's sporting a pristine 1.83 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 44 strikeouts and only 15 walks in 39 1/3 innings as Baltimore's go-to ninth-inning arm.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
