5 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jose Alvarado (oblique) will be making his first rehab outing for the Single-A Charlotte Stone Crabs on Sunday. Alvarado has been on the Injured List since early July with a right oblique strain. Unless he has a setback, he'll likely be back in the big leagues by mid-August. Alvarado started the season strong and was the Rays' top closing option in the opening weeks of the season, but since May, he's really fallen apart. The Rays have a plethora of options in their bullpen now and Alvarado isn't worth holding onto or owning in any leagues at this point.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
