3 years agoPortland Trail Blazers shooting guard Josh Hart (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against San Antonio due to left patellar tendinopathy. Hart has recently enjoyed No. 1 scoring option status for an injury-plagued Portland roster, but his absence paves the way for Brandon Williams, Ben McLemore, CJ Elleby, and others to take on significantly elevated offensive roles. The Blazers have little incentive to rush Hart, who has averaged 28.6 PPG over his last five outings, back to action, even as they sit just 2.5 games out of a Play-in Tournament spot. For context, Anfernee Simons (knee), who has been dealing with the same issue, has been sidelined since March 5.--Jesse Borek
