Josh Jacobs To Be Involved In Backfield Committee?
2 years agoLas Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, who had his fifth-year option declined, could be involved in a backfield committee this year alongside Kenyan Drake, Brandon Bolden, Ameer Abdullah and rookie Zamir White. Jacobs had 732 carries for 3,087 rushing yards in the last three seasons, but he hasn't been very durable. His longest run the last two years also went for only 28 yards, and he needs to work on his ball security. It's unlikely that Jacobs will be a bell-cow back for the Raiders in 2022, especially when White has similar traits to Jacobs. There's a decent chance that general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels already think White is better than both Jacobs and Drake. With all that said, Jacobs' stock as an RB2 is falling as we approach training camp.
