Jrue Holiday Notches First Triple-Double Of Season
5 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans point/shooting guard Jrue Holiday logged his first triple-double of the 2019-20 campaign Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves. Holiday finished with 27 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds across his 38 minutes, shooting 10-for-16 from the field overall. The performance marks his first triple-double since March 27, 2018, while leading his squad in scoring for the first time since Feb. 8. There are a handful of mouths to feed in the Pelicans’ offense on a nightly basis, but even with Lonzo Ball excelling on occasion, Holiday has carved out a significant statistical niche out of the backcourt moving forward. He next faces the Mavericks on Wednesday, who have flummoxed him this season, including holding him to 0-for-10 from behind the arc.
