4 years agoSan Antonio Spurs shooting guard/small forward Keldon Johnson has been an early season standout, having recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds during Sunday's loss to the Pelicans. Since being a surprise addition to the starting five in the team's season opener, he has done nothing to dissuade head coach Gregg Popovich from keeping him there. While logging the second double-double of his career, Johnson shot 5-for-10 overall and added five assists and two blocks. He may not serve as San Antonio's top offensive option at any point, but he has shown the ability to contribute in multiple categories, which has earned him considerable intrigue heading into the second week of the year. He provides a safe floor as a waiver claim heading into Wednesday's matchup versus the Lakers.--Jesse Borek
