Kenley Jansen Charged With His Third Blown Save
3 years agoAtlanta Braves closer Kenley Jansen failed to convert his save opportunity against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. He entered the game in the ninth inning with the Braves up 6-5 and wound up giving up two hits, one walk and one earned run. The Braves went on to lose the game in 10 innings. After converting each of his first nine save attempts this year, Jansen has started to show some vulnerabilities the past few weeks. He's blown three of his last six save opportunities dating back to May 18. Jansen should have an extremely long leash as the team's primary closer so don't expect any changes in the team's ninth inning approach unless Jansen gets injured or just completely falls apart.
