Kenyan Drake Offers Upside In Change-Of-Pace Role
3 years agoLas Vegas Raiders running back Kenyan Drake could see significant usage despite being listed as Josh Jacobs' backup, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic. While Jacobs, the incumbent starter, will handle the duties of a lead back, Drake offers upside as someone who can provide a change of pace. Specifically, Reed notes that the Raiders' coaching staff "wants to do a better job of keeping [Jacobs] fresh after he dealt with injuries in both of his first two seasons in the league." He also presents versatility in the form of his receiving abilities, especially with Jalen Richard temporarily sidelined. Drake isn't worth starting in Week 1, but you should feel comfortable drafting him at his current ADP. It's very possible that he can maintain FLEX status while playing alongside Jacobs.
